Electric Guitar Effect Program
What is the best software for recording music on a computer?
I have a USB Behringer Condenser microphone (to save costs on the interface) and have just ordered plenty of RAM as I’m worried about the lagging effect with computers I’ve heard about. I’m recording acoustic guitar, electric guitar from the amp and vocals, and have been using Audacity but don’t find it a very useful programme and the tracks always seem slightly out of sync by a split second.
Can anyone please recommend a good piece of software to buy (under a hundred pounds please folks!) for home recording? I’m on a Windows operating Dell laptop.

i uploaded those songs when i first started playing. believe it or not, i recorded the audio through a DIGITAL CAMERA! then using the program i extracted the audio, changed eq levels, and ultimately made a pretty good sounding track if you ask me for something so cheap.
imagine what you can do if you got a mic, and some good recording device. with the same program, you can make it sound professional.

are there ways to patch my electric guitar into my computer?
maybe along with some effects programs? Im without an amp yet. Thanks for your input
You can plug it into the Mic input jack. You will need an adaptor plug to take it from the larger 1/4 to the smaller mic plug. The signal will probably not be loud enough to hear well though without headphones and you wont be able to add effects. There are a lot of inexpensive interfaces out that you can just plug into and connect to your computer with USB input.
