Stompbox Modeller
M13 modeler or tonecore pedals?
is it better to get M13 stompbox modeler or individual tonecore pedals?
Please say why if you have a supportive reason
In my opinion, this will depend largely upon your experience and needs. If you use lots of effects and effects combinations, and you play live, then the M13 is the answer without a doubt.
This unit is crazy flexible and deep and you can set up the effects in any order you want, use express pedals, route the effects like you want, insert other effect pedals if you want (say you have an analog pedal you absolutely need), and you can set the time based effects to various tap tempos.
If you just fiddle around with a few effects and mostly play for fun and on your own, then the M13 is more than likely overkill – after all it do cost quite a bit of money.
All these units (including the Tonecore pedals I’ve heard and tested) sounds great. Yes they are digital, and a few tone snobs may turn them down for that reason alone. To me – and I’m an old tube amp guy – they sound good. For live playing, units like the M13 is a gift from heaven. Fast and easy to set up, very user friendly (just like playing with stomp boxes), sounds great and extremely flexible.
