I have a question about picking with teeth on guitar?

I have seen tons of footage of famous guitar players who start picking the strings with their teeth. I haven’t really practiced this a lot, so I haven’t gotten any reason fro frustration yet, but just now, I saw a video of Paul Gilbert soloing, and when he started picking with his teeth, there was some sort of weird, distorted, wah-like effect. No biggie, I thought, just a pedal. But then the camera zoomed out, and I saw that He was nowhere near any pedals. I think I’ve heard Zakk Wylde so a similar effect, but he didn’t use his teeth. Here’s a video of the Paul Gilbert solo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIl3Qtjusqs. The picking with the teeth is at 2:08. Does anyone know how to do this or what it is?
Also, does anyone have any tips for either teeth picking practice or help – like online or something?

You have to be Yngwie Malmsteen in order to do this.
