Guitar Pedal Power Cables
Where to find a 9v DC power thing?
I bought a pedal for my guitar that did not come with a power cable thing (what the fuck?) I really need the distortion pedal though, where do I find this cable, or whatever you call it that plugs in from a pedal into the wall??
It’s called an AC Adapter, a Power Adapter, a Power Block, a Power Supply, and a variety of other similar names. BEST place to get it is from the company that makes the pedal. That way you KNOW the coaxial connector will fit the pedal. Often, people find that a little pricey, so they try to buy a generic one that’s cheaper. Radio Shack is your next best bet to find one that will fit pedal. Still a little pricey, but usually not as bad.
9v power blocks are common and easy to find, very cheaply, too. But there is almost every imaginable combination of inside diameter and outside diameter of the coaxial plug, so you want to spend the money ONLY if you can make sure first that it works with your pedal.

Can I use a rated 125 Volt power cable with a 250 Volt fuse?
just bought this cable from radio shack. it says “power your computer electronics” but I’m using it for either my guitar amp or my MIDI (guitar effects) pedal board. I already have one cable (that says 250 volts on it) and I need another cable. This cable most definitely fits, but is it safe to use? I haven’t tested it, but I’m sure it will work…just wondering if it is safe? like I said the cable i bought is rated 125 volts and the input on my amp and MIDI says 250 volts.

Yes you can safely use it. Almost all equipment fuses are rated at 250VAC. You will only be drawing 30 or less total.. not a big deal.. go ahead and use it.
