guitar effects phase shifter
Any recommended guitar effect pedals?

I’ve been looking at guitar pedals lately and I was wondering what some of the best are. I’ve already purchased a BOSS overdrive/distortion pedal and a BOSS Phase Shifter.
I like pop-punk and alternative music. Any suggestions would be great. :)

You have already a good start. One point to consider before investing too much in pedals is your amp. The quality of your sound is greatly influenced by the quality of the amp and speakers. Also, some amps have considerable effects built in already and eliminate the need for certain pedals. Amps like Line 6 have quite a bit of effects built in.

Back to your question. If your amp does not have a reverb, you may want a good reverb pedal. Also a chorus pedal may be useful. Danelectro makes a Cool Cat Chorus pedal that is good and inexpensive. I like wah-wah pedals, you can do a lot with those. Nothing like the Cry Baby. A Tube Screamer is a good pedal, but you may be able to get by with your overdrive pedal.

A side note, you can find a wide array of good used pedals on eBay. If you watch there, you may be able to pick up some bargains on used pedals.

what type of guitar amplifier should i buy?

hi….i recetly purchased an electric guitar. i have been acoustic for nearly 2 years. im having trouble in deciding what type of an amplifier to buy. plz suggest what wil suit me best. i really need to hav distortion its a top priority. do amplifiers come with built in distortion? or should i go for the basic amplifier n then buy a separate effects processor? which is better?…the in built distortion(if it exists) or the one in the effects processor? additional features like overdrive, compression, phase shifter, wah wah and flanger are also desirable….though i think that overdrive is present in the basic amplifier. plz help me choose the amplifier….also give some information about its power output that wil be sufficient…such as 10W,15W or higher. links to websites containing inf wil be appreciated. thanks
