Guitar Effects Latency
Is there a way to add latency to a guitar effect?
i want there to be a slight delay from when i hit a string to when it comes out of the amp.
i was doin some recording and there was a 4ms delay between my effects pedal output and the computers output (they were both outputting to the same source) and it sounded really cool. i have a pod x3 live and if i create a 2 tone effect i can have 1 nice solo sound and then have the second sound that is the exact same but there will be a slight delay with it so it will kinda sound like 2 guitars playing together but a slight delay between them.
i have tried using an octaver but its not what im looking for as i want the 2 sounds to be the exact same pitch just to have a slight delay from when 1 starts
Use a delay pedal. They are designed to do exactly what you want. My son uses a Digitec Digidelay and that is very good, but many other companies make them, and some amps have built in delays.

How to disable built-in microphone on Toshiba laptop?
I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 and I installed Guitar Rig 4 to use the laptop as an effect-processor. It works fine, no latency, but there is one problem – when I plug the guitar into the microphone jack, the built-in microphone still stays on and creates unwanted noises and feedback which i can’t get rid of without turning the microphone off somehow. How do I turn it off?
Please don’t guess by telling me to check ‘Manage Audio devices’ under ‘Control panel’, I’ve already tried to disable the mic there, but there’s no such option.
Going by what you are saying, I would say there is a fault with the microphone socket.
It should switch the internal one off when you plug another one in.
Exactly the same when you plug headphones in and it kills the normal speakers.
The only thing I can suggest is whip it into a workshop and let them have a quick look at it.
As an afterthought a guitar is not the same as a microphone as such.
Have you got a “Line in” and tried it in that?
