Acoustic guitar… Installing new bridge pins?
I’ve bought new pins for my acoustic guitar, the only prloblem is that after they’ve been inserted with the strings(fully tuned)… the pins do not seem be level with one another. For example: The pin in the E string slot comes up slightly, as well as the B string. Will this effect the sound quality?
Perfectly acceptable, perfectly normal. Pin diameter and hole diameter are not always perfectly dead on tolerance precision crafted. The only function of the bridge pin is to keep the string securly held.
Do make sure to hook the ball on the lip of the soundboard (guitar top) so you don’t have issues later of slippage and resulting tuning problems.
As for the sound quality? The most you should see (and very often it is unnoticable depending upon the guitar) for bridge pins in terms of sound quality? A little more sustain as the plastic you replaced with a harder material like ebony or bone will dampen the sound less.
The bridge itself is far more impacting in terms of conducting the sound wave energy from the strings to the sound board. It does more than just keep the strings at the right height. A bone saddle can often give you a little more volume and clarity. Sometimes the combination between bone and the type of woods used in the guitar works beautifully, but sometimes with some combinations it can actually make the sound worse.
But the pins themselves you do not have to worry much about in terms of sound quality.

What can I connect to my Crate gfx 120 guitar amplifier?
So my amp has an insert and an external speaker connection besides the input for the guitar. The manual says that the insert is for special effects things and the other one is for an external speaker. However, I was wondering if I could connect maybe another guitar somehow or maybe a mic. just curious. thanx

An insert jack is designed to break the connection between the preamp/tone stack and the power amp stages. The idea is that you develope your tone in the preamp, then add your effects, and finally out to the power amp.
The way it’s set up on your amp, if you plug a guitar into the insert jack, it will most likely disconnect the preamp (and shutting off whatever guitar is plugged into the instrument input of the amp).
Probably best just to use it for it’s intended purpose.
