The boss gt8 guitar effects pedal…?

Just bought a boss gt8 pedal. I am very happy with the sounds it make and am wondering if it has any build in drums, as I have drum tracks on a cd but the neighbours but dint appreciate it when i practice with my amp. The pedal has a phones socket which is awesome but got no drums to practice with, does anyboddy know if it has build in drum tracks or how can i wire up a system that will allow me to use the pedal and cd drumtracks with head phones… Thanks

get the deep sounds

I have a question about guitar effects…?

um… shud i get a effects processor or individual pedals for each effects???
i know that it will be easier for me to have few pedals of my own needs but it will be cheaper for me to buy a processor….

I like play many different genres… like from punk to metal to joe satriani stuff (which requires a lot of effects)… I currently have DOD Grunge petal… and i think that one is almost dead… like it won’t switch back to clean tone… i thought it was battery problem but it doesn’t switch back even w/ a new battery…

I really need to know if processors (like BOSS GT8 or ME50 or Line 6 PODxt Live) or individual effect pedals are better

How’s your amp? Your amp is a big part of your sound, and many of the good ones allow quite a lot of wiggle room in tweaking it. Your guitar and effects will only sound as good as your amp allows them to…

But as far as pedals go, that all depends. If you’re gigging, individual pedals would probably be better. My cousin headlines a rock band and has a pedal board with about 6 pedals on it, so they can accumulate very quickly. If you’re just practicing at home and don’t care about a spot-on sound, but rather a decent approximation for practicing purposes, a modeling processor will be okay. They tend to sound more digital (less authentic), but they take up less room, are more convenient, and have many more effects than single-effect pedals.

I got a cheap digitech multi-effects processor off Ebay so I could practice all genres on my clean-sounding SSS strat. The old digitechs sound like crap, but the new chip models are a bit better. When I go clean through my amp, I can get a deep blues sound, but no metal, punk, etc. I wouldn’t do any live shows with my processor or anything, but I’m not really to that level yet. It has tons of effects, amp models, pickup models, drums, metronome, wah, custom presets, volume control, headphone jack, etc… good for practicing purposes anyway.

The pedals you mentioned are probably a bit better than mine. I looked around a lot, reading user reviews on musiciansfriend, zzounds, and guitarcenter websites before settling for the one I got. I suggest you do the same. Don’t go too expensive, though… may as well just get a killer amp instead in that case.
