Free Guitar Effects On Computer
How can I record my music?
I enjoy writing music on my guitar and I would like to record some of it but I can’t afford anything expensive. Is there a way to have the output from my effects pedal into my computer so it can record on there? And are there any free programs to do this? Many thanks
its not going sound that good, but theres a way to use the output jack to connect to ur laptop via USB. its a 1/4 jack on one side and the other is a USB. u can also look into guitar USB interface, but idk what ur gonna record w/ w/o a recording studio. idk any free recording programs that are legal or not in torrent form (which are still illegal, but still an option depending on your morals and how good u r w/ computers).
re @ twilighterforever: gargeband is only for mac, and im pretty sure he doesnt have a Mac cause wats the pt in asking the question? u kno wat i mean?

im starting my own studio too, one piece at a time. i just got a Axiom 61 midi piano, im gettin a studio program from my friend, and all i gotta do next is buy mics (and a pop filter) and an interface so i can record my guitar and vocal tracks.

Need advice recording music on a computer…?
Hi All
I’m helping a friend record some of his music to get better known. He sounds great live but trying to get his stuff recorded on the cheap is proving difficult(see a couple of attempts on www.myspace.com/martincoyne). I’ve done some encoding using Windows Media encoder but it only allows for one input – normal mike input on a computer.
Can anyone offer advice on the following:
- having various inputs into a computer (i.e. vocals, guitar, drums…is the a card that can deal with this, what are these cards normally called, what are good makes etc.)
-encoding software (is windows media encoder any good and are there other ones, are there free ones)?
-Editing software – once we’ve encoding it is there any good software for changing levels, adding effects to seperate channels etc.
