Night Time $7.98 Just as adult authors from Isabel Allende to Clive Barker are writing kids’ books these days, rock & roll artists (remember Jerry Garcia and David Grisman’s 1993 recording Not for Kids Only?) are reaching out to the younger set. Thank goodness, we say… and scoot over, Barney. Festival Five Records is the children’s music label founded by Dan Zanes, former lead singer of the Del Fuegos, where he … |

Queer as Folk – The Complete Second Season $19.69 They’re still out and proud, and in their second season the boys (and girls) of Queer as Folk continued to break ground as the most gay-friendly show on television (sorry, Will and Grace). Some plot lines were a little over the top, others truly heartfelt, but they were never less than entertaining, even during their All My Children moments. Season two opened in the aftermath of the gay-bashing of… |

Elena’s Serenade (Americas Award for Children’s and Young Adult Literature. Commended (Awards)) $10.10 A delightfully fresh take on the “anything you can do, I can do better” theme, Elena’s Serenade follows a feisty little Mexican girl on a quest to prove to her father–and herself–that she can be a glassblower, even if she is a girl. Magic realism abounds as Elena journeys (dressed as a boy) to Monterrey to learn from the great glassblowers. Along the way she meets a burro, a roadrunner, and a co… |
Did Fox News do a piece on Kanye West or something?
What the heck is going on? The right wing is suddenly freaking out about MUSIC AWARDS. Of course, they are also making it all about race. Did Fox give them their marching orders or something?
Of course none of these folks have ever even heard his music…If they did, they’d probably actually enjoy the song “Jesus Walks”…it’s quite good.
Bettie…I’m ASKING a question. I have NO idea if they did or did not…the sudden outrage on the right makes me wonder.
They must not know who he is because if they did they’d know he’s always been like that. I personally think the guy is a d-bag, I always have even way before this… but them comparing him to Obama is ridiculous. They hate black people that’s all this is about. That’s all their complaints are ever about. They just mask it with what they call “protests” and think people can’t see through them.
Funny how some white people think they are the only ones allowed to be racist.
