folk guitar patterns
12 string acoustic guitar, brand is pearl, made by hayashi, anyone have any info on these guitars?

i just received an old 12 string acoustic guitar, the brand of the guitar says Pearl and inside it says “Pearl guitar, folk, made by Hayashi”
Does anyone know anything about these guitars? i think its a replica of a Gibson hummingbird as it has the same pattern on the pickguard

I’m tempted to assume that Pearl guitar is part of the Pearl drum company. First-rate drums and drum accessories (I should know–the drummer in my band has a 9-piece Pearl drum kit).

Yet I found information that points to the Ibanez (guitar and bass) family, or at least the production lines that produce Ibanez and associated equipment. See source.

How can i understand and learn different type of strumming on guitar?

I have heared many types of strumming patterns like folk style, rock style and bass style but I have never come to know the difference. How can I learn them and know the difference. In Indian music we hardly use these terms. Are there any more styles of strumming? I need to learn them thoroughly because in future I like others to teach.

Have you looked into ska strumming? It is played with upstrokes and muted rhythmically with some clicks.

Typically on rock songs it is power chords and quite a few bands don’t do upstrokes on power chords.
