1989 oldsmobile cutlass ciera transmission problems?
Ok, i have a problem with my car. Whenever i rev the engine in Neutral or park, it makes a funny noise. Also, when it is in drive, the car will not shift out of 1st gear. Also there is no engine braking effect when i let off of the gas pedal. the rpms just drop to idle speed. i checked the ATF, and it was brown, but it hadn’t changed in color since i checked it a few days ago.
Earlier yesterday, i went to a car wash, and used an engine degeaser, followed by a high pressure rinse, which it said to do. i was running fine for at least an hour when i stopped the car at my house and parked it. when i went somewhere today, it started acting up as i described. i’m wondering if water happened to get somwhere in the transmission.
The car is a 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera SL 4 door sedan. The engine is a 3.3 liter v6 engine. the transmission is a 4 speed automatic.
I know exactly what the problem is. i had a similar problem with a 97 jetta.
The ATF is brown and thats not good. Your suppose to flush your transmission fluid every 30,000 miles, seems to me like it hasnt been done on yours, so thats the reason your tranny is acting up, because of poor maintanence.
The same thing is gonna keep happening to your tranny, dont hope that one day its gonna stop. That tranny is GONE. it need to be either rebuilt or you need to go buy a new one.
To be honest i dont think you should waste time and money on this tranny because its going to cost you more than the car is worth, you are better off getting another car. thats what i did in my case with my jetta.
You should of maintained it better, let that be a lesson to you on your future car. when your ready to buy another, check ALL fluids, test drive, and get a carfax on it.

I need an amplifier with power?!?!?!?!?
I have a Line 6 Spider III 15 watt amp, and a 28watt Squire amp, and i brought both to my friends house to jam. On their own, they both have terrible distortion tone, but i use a multi effects pedal for all distortion and effects so i dont care about effects or the built in distortion. I used both output jacks from my pedal so i could plug into both amps for more power. Unfortunately, both amps together weren’t loud enough to keep up with my friends “enthusiastic” drumming, I need something with POWER, and it cant be more than $400. around $300 would be better. remember, built-in effects and distortion dont matter.

Just do some research on what kind of Amplifier would suit you.If your taking it to jam you dont want it to be too big etc. First just look for something that will powerful enough for what your doing but easy enough to move. Research them and look for reviews too.Another thing to consider is buying a used amp, as you can get better and more powerful ones cheaper, however make sure there is nothing wrong with it. Also more watts doesnt always mean its louder, weird as it sounds.
Just have a look at websites, some good ones are listed below, and decide what make youd like etc.
