Why do people dislike boss guitar pedals?
I hear a lot of people saying thay don’t like boss pedals. I think they sound pretty good and they’re cheap! What’s the beef against boss?
There’s no straight answer to this.
Everyone has their preference. Personally I like Boss. I’ve heard of some bad experiences with Boss, such as a pedal going out after a few weeks. But personally I’ve never had a problem.
I use Boss, Line 6, and TC-Helicon pedals.

Can you use a Boss guitar pedal on a bass through a bass amp?
I have the Boss MT-Z Metal Zone guitar pedal and I was wondering if it would be safe to use it on my bass guitar through my bass amp. Please be sure of your answer, I don’t want to mess up the pedal.
yea sure guitar+Bass=happness
But you might wanna try the Marshall Jackhammer that just came out. Its a guitar pedal but the distortion sounds much better through a bass amp.
