Best Guitar Effects Setup

Need some suggestions for setup?
I just bought a Peavey Valveking 112 and want to use with a Boss GT-8, where would be the best place to hookup my GT-8 to.
Guitar input 1 or 2, OR one of the Effects section(return) (send)
any ideas does anyone own the similiar gear?
Pablo, the GT-8 is a intrument level device which means that it can take input from your guitar and give its output to a mixer or a guitar amplifier. The best place to put the output of the GT 8 will be into the input 1 of your amplifier. The FX loop is a line level loop and operates on a higher voltage and will damage the GT-8 input amplifiers if the signal is strong. Also it is advisable only to put time based effects (Delay, Reverb, Echo, flange) in to the FX loop for your guitar to sound good as they enrich the signal post drive, saturation, phase pan etc. Your amplifier has an overdrive in the pre-amplifier stage, hence if you put your GT-8 into the FX loop it will recieve a overdriven or distorted signal. So my recommendation wil be input 1.
