Guitar Effect Supplies

I’m interested in learning & buying a Tabla here in NYC?
I’m interested in learning/playing Tabla. I’m planning to take a class in Midtown. Even though the Center in Midtown doesn’t require a beginner to buy or have a Tabla (they supply 1 for you) I’m still thinking ’bout getting 1 to play/practice in the near future. 2 Questions:
1) Can Anyone tell me where I can buy a Tabla here in NYC?
2) I’m a Musician (Piano) who will be learning to play Acoustic Guitar in the near future. I’d like to know – Would the Finger/Hand Techniques in playing the Tabla hurt (or effect) the Finger/Hand Techniques in learning to Play the Acoustic Guitar And Piano? Meaning, will playing the Tabla effect the way I play the Piano and/or Acoustic Guitar?
Please let me know.
IDK about where you can buy a tabla in NYC.
Playing a tabla will in no way reduce your efficiency or tone production when playing piano or guitar – in fact, it may improve your tone production since your fingers are going to be strong.

Jimmy Page and Robert Plant understood this in 1997 as they began work on Walking Into Clarksdale, the duo’s first album-length collaboration on all-new material since Led Zeppelin blew apart in 1980. Despite inevitable comparisons with the music of their… |

is my Behringer V-Amp 2 Dead?
I have a behringer v-amp 2 multi effects guitar unit. It has been all good working then suddenly Half of the lights dissapeared leaving only treble and gain lights on. None of the buttons worked. I turned it off and on and all was well. For about 10 minutes… then all the lights disappeared and no buttons worked at all. Now the thing will not turn on at all. It goes dead. The odd time I plug it in it has random lights, like rather than the usual one or two lights per dial its maybe 6 lights on the same dial and not on all the dials. Just random lights that make no sense. There is no sound from it at all either. Is it knackered? Or is there a simple battery, power supply replacement or so mething? The lights will load randomly and in an odd way and then cut out a few seconds later.
Any help is appreciated. Any links to websites too. Thanks
I love Behringer but their stuff is cheap. Your best bet would be to just buy a new one. If you got a year or two out of it, you probably got your moneys worth out of it.
