Delay on a guitar….?

Can I get delay off of my Fender Frontman without using a stompbox? What difference does delay have in your playing? What exactly is your best definition of delay on a guitar?

A delay simply reproduces the sound of your guitar and then plays it again depending on how you set the feedback rate and feedback length. It’s basically an echo.

If you don’t want a stomp box there is always a rack mount or you could play the echos yourself (to a point).

Chorus, Flanging, Reverb, Doubling and Harmonizers are all based on digital delay. If you know how to set it up you can do all kinds of cool stuff with a good digital delay.

The Edge from U2 uses delay a lot to get his layered sound. You could also play against and with yourself. Play a lick and play a harmony over it when it comes back. Stuff like that.
