how to set up my stompbox with a halfstack?

i bought a new raven cab and set up my line 6 spider IV on it as the head and want to use my stompbox with my cab. i have a m13 stompbox and when i hook it up nothing happens only the amp sounds and no noise comes from my guitar, and i bought it all today. how do i set up my amp and stompbox to work?

Thats not really much to go on. Is it plugged in? Do you have good cables? Is it in the efffects loop or inline? Do you have the volume up on the effects? There are a hundred other things that could go wrong, especially with a multi effects unit like that. Sit down and read the manual befor eyou just plug it in. I know thats not fun, but you will learn how to really set it up well and not have issues like this.
